At the Littleton district office, services are offered in the form of individual and marriage counseling, comprehensive information about and referrals to resources in the area, and Parish and Community Outreach which engages Catholic Charities staff with parish and/or community groups to examine pressing social needs (poverty, aging, disability, hunger, etc.) and to develop volunteer driven responses rooted in gospel values. Staff is always available to meet with parish and community representatives who are concerned with specific local needs. Education programs and workshops are available by request, support groups are also arranged based on need, and Protecting God's Children classes are offered (a prerequisite for anyone in the diocese interested in working with youth). Each district office also distributes toys for the Marine Corps Reserves' Toys for Tots program during the Christmas season (New Hampshire Catholic Charities is the largest distributor of toys for the Marine's Toys for Tots program).

Some of the additional offerings at this district office include:

  • Volunteer Opportunities
Interfaith Community Needs Advocate Program - This valuable volunteer ministry provides support and assistance to community members who are facing an economic crisis. Volunteers are trained to know the vast array of assistive resources in the community and provide telephone support, information and referral, and advocacy to individuals and families facing an economic crisis. Call today to volunteer.

    • 10 hour pre-service training is required
    • Most activity is done by telephone

New Hampshire Catholic Charities' Youth Services Corps - provides youth (grades 7 – 12) an opportunity to explore our church's rich tradition of social justice teachings, and to put that knowledge to work in meaningful service projects that benefit the most frail and vulnerable members of our community. Participants are supervised by carefully screened adults. Service hours may be used to fulfill both school based and Confirmation community service requirements (but not both at the same time!) Call to get your child involved!

    • All skills welcome
    • Volunteer must participate in a thorough screening and training process

Elderly Outreach Ministry - provides friendly visitors, telephone reassurance and, on an availability basis, transportation and chore services for homebound elderly and persons with disabilities. To become a volunteer or to refer someone for services, please call the Littleton district office.

    • Friendly visitors
    • Chore services
    • Transportation

Volunteer must participate in a thorough screening and training process.

Furniture Ministry Program - This project collects and redistributes furniture and household items to persons in need. Typically we will match the person in need directly with your donation. In the rare instance that an item needs to be stored, we will arrange for a pick-up. (We are not capable of collecting and redistributing clothing. Call the parish outreach coordinator regarding your donations or needs.)

    • Volunteers willing to transport furniture as needed
    • Donations of furniture and household items welcome (no appliances or clothing please).
  • Programs
Good Beginnings provides material and emotional support to pregnant and parenting teens and families.

  • Workshops
Workshops are typically one and a half hours in length. They explore a topic in depth and usually involve audience participation and "hands-on" experiences. They are best suited to groups of 10-40 persons.
