Development Assistant

The New Hampshire Food Bank is seeking a dynamic and creative Development Assistant.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the responsibilities of the Development Assistant may include event management, public relations, marketing campaigns, grant writing, and promotional activities in an effort to increase the awareness of the organization as well as support from individuals and corporations throughout the state.
The best candidate will possess experience in print and web design software applications (Adobe), outstanding interpersonal communication skills, relationship building skills, be organized and persistent, and demonstrate an ability to work with and motivate others.
As the only food bank in the state, the New Hampshire Food Bank’s current approach to ending hunger includes developing programs to help educate our member agencies, rolling out a Mobile Food Pantry, and expanding its Operation Frontline program. Each year the Food Bank, a program of New Hampshire Catholic Charities, distributes over 4.5 million pounds of donated, surplus food to 350 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care centers, senior citizen homes and substance abuse treatment centers. These member agencies in turn provide the food to the over 95,000 hungry men, women and children throughout New Hampshire.

Operation Frontline Program Assistant
The New Hampshire food Bank, a program of New Hampshire Catholic Charities, is looking for a self-motivated, dynamic individual to help manage the expansion of our Operation Frontline program.
Operation Frontline is a cooking-based nutrition program created by Share Our Strength, one of the nation’s leading anti-hunger organizations. Operation Frontline is locally hosted by the NH Food Bank. The NH Food Bank serves as the only food bank in the state, providing food to over 350 agencies that feed the hungry throughout NH.
Description
The Operation Frontline Program Assistant will assist the program coordinator to expand Operation Frontline to the state through the satellite class program. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits. Responsibilities include managing the satellite class program, recruiting, training and managing the program volunteers, administrative tasks pertaining to the program, and some public speaking.
Requirements
Bachelors or associates degree or 5 + years in related field needed. Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills as well as experience with Microsoft products are a must. Experience working and training volunteers, or program management a plus. This position will require occasional evening availability, in-state travel as well as a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and insurance. Candidate must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage several priorities at once, and have a passion for ending hunger in New Hampshire.
